In January, German solar and wind turbines produced hardly any electricity – in the specialist yargon of the energy industry this is called “dark lute”.

A dark period is called a dark period when there is little wind and little sunlight at the same time. The representatives of the energy industry are now warning of a supply gap and regularly use this darkening as a panic.

But this is completely unfounded ….
