NRW, Germany: New promotion for larger PV battery storage

NRW, Germany: New promotion for larger PV battery storage

The German “Bundesverband Solarwirtschaft (BSW)” recently announced that North Rhine-Westphalia is now promoting stationary battery storage, which will be installed in conjunction with a photovoltaic system with a capacity of more than 30 kilowatts.

This can be either a new installation or the retrofitting of an existing installation which has been put into operation after 31 December 2012.

As a further component of this support, 50% of the related expenses for the corresponding control and measuring devices as well as for information and communication measures for the operation of the storage are subsidized. The upper limit per storage is 75,000 €.

Thuringia is also to work on the implementation of a similar concept.

Further details and requirements for the newly introduced funding can be found here.
